Albany Set to Turn On the Tap

As part of the multi million dollar Centennial Park Sporting Precinct redevelopment in Albany, Western Australia, water is about to flow into the purpose built lake which will be ready to accommodate radio sailing.

In just over a month the 2019 WA IOM Great Southern Championship will be hosted by the Albany Radio Sailing Club and there is a heightened level of excitement with news that the taps will be turned on and the water will be pouring into the lake in less than a weeks time.

/Albany Radio Sailing Club/alb2The state and federally funded project has been under construction for a number of years enhancing sports fields and facilities for numerous sports and it is fantastic that the sport of radio sailing has also benefited from the initiative.

Albany Radio Sailing Club has sailed from the location on a lake less than half the size of the new facility sailing numerous classes including International One Metre, RC Laser, DF65 & DF95 and the new lake will no doubt attract keen interest in the sport.

Albany RSC conducts club racing every Sunday from 09.30 at the Albany Marina or the new facility at Cnr Lockyer Ave & North Road, Albany.
