Fifteen entries in total , 6 from Paradise Radio Yachting Club on the Gold Coast & 9 from host club, Sunshine Coast Radio Sailing Club (SCRSC).

All skippers started with B rig as the wind shifted from SW to SSE. With a number of minor course changes skippers enjoyed a reasonably steady breeze with average heats of approximately 11 minutes.

An interesting battle developed between the 2023 & 2024 State Champion, Daniel Bergan #147 & one of SCRSC’s top guns Niko Leluan #277 – each having a number of turns at the top of the leaderboard throughout the day.

Mid afternoon the wind reduced slightly - Daniel quickly swopped his B rig for his A rig, next race Niko also changed – ironically the wind then came back & both skippers quickly reverted to B rigs. The battle continued keeping spectators on the edge of their seats – unfortunately there had to be a winner which was local skipper Niko by three points over Daniel after 19 races. Niko secured 7 race wins to Daniels 4 . 3rd place was  Richard Kingsmill #365 from Paradise & 4th Derick Warne from SCRSC. Interesting to note that Niko & Richard are both new to RC Laser sailing, Niko even using a borrowed boat.
