Top Skippers Head to the Sunshine Coast for the 2025 Eddie Cowell IOM Regatta
The Sunshine Coast Radio Sailing Club is pleased to announce that entries are now open for the 2025 Eddie Cowell IOM Regatta competing for the Eddie Cowell Perpetual Trophy, set to take place from 22 to 24 August 2025.
This annual event has become a standout on the Australian radio sailing calendar, attracting IOM competitors from across the country, with the possibility of entries from New Zealand adding to the international flavour of the regatta.
Now in its 17th year, the regatta honours Eddie Cowell, a passionate and long-time supporter of radio sailing in Queensland. His enthusiasm and dedication to the sport are reflected in the ongoing success and reputation of this event.
Racing will be conducted over three days on the Sunshine Coast, offering competitors a high-quality regatta experience supported by experienced race management and ideal winter sailing conditions.
“The Eddie Cowell Regatta is one of the key fixtures on the national calendar for the IOM class,” said Sean Wallis, President of the Australian Radio Yachting Association. “It consistently delivers excellent racing in a fantastic location, and the Sunshine Coast Radio Sailing Club should be commended for the professional and welcoming environment they create year after year.”
