Condie Dominates on Day 1 of the 2025 International Ten Rater Class Australian Championship
The 2025 International Ten Rater Class Australian Championship got underway in Hobart, Tasmania, with a challenging mix of conditions testing the fleet. The day started with the Katabatic breeze in full force, delivering gusts up to 18 knots. However, the persistent issue of weed in the water added an extra layer of difficulty for competitors.
As the Katabatic faded, racing was put on hold for two hours before the sea breeze gradually filled in, settling at around 12 knots by the end of the day. Despite the interruptions, the racing was intense, with 12 races completed.
Fresh off his Marblehead Class championship victory, Scott Condie showed no signs of slowing down, putting on a dominant display with his Trance design. Condie secured eight race wins and never finished worse than second, establishing a commanding overnight lead. Behind him, Andrew Reid sits in second place after claiming two race wins, while Mark Wilson rounds out the top three.
Victorians Chris Ryan and Rob Nowak each managed to break Condie’s stranglehold on the results, securing a race win apiece. With more racing scheduled to resume tomorrow from 10 a.m., competitors will be looking to close the gap and challenge Condie’s supremacy.
Stay tuned for more updates as the championship unfolds.
