2022 ARYA Australian Championships - A Class, Marblehead and Ten Rater

Jul 8, 2022

Dates are now set for the 2022 Australian Championships for the "big" boats. Thank you to both the South Australian Association and the Western Australian Association for volunteering to host these prestegious events on the ARYA Sailing Calendar

The first event will be the A Class Australian Champonship to be sailed at West Lakes in Adelaide on Monday 17 and Tuesday 18 October 2022. West Lakes has hosted the A Class on two occasions in the last few years and has provided a good set of conditions for these boats.

The next two events will be the Marblehead and Ten Rater Australian Championships to be held in Perth at Champion Lakes. The Marbleheds will be on Monday 24 and Tuesday 25 October, and the Ten Raters on Thursday 27 and Friday 28 October. Wednesday 26 October is held aside for either a lay day, or for an additional day for the Marblehead class should numbers require.

For those die-hards who wish to compete in all three classes, there is the opportunity to pack up your boats into a trailer and drive from Adelaide to Perth. Several States have gone down the path of sharing the transport of equipment by building or aquiring trailers. The drive across the Nullabor is not as daunting as many make it out to be. I can vouch for that, having made the drive on many occasions dragging the RSAWA boat trailer to the eastern states.

Details of the Australian Championships, including Notice of Race and Entry will be available on the ARYA's National Championship website: http://www.aryanationals.com/

We wish all participants the best of luck and fair sailing.
