Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update from ARYA

Mar 5, 2020

The threat of Coronavirus (COVID-19) is a global concern and the ARYA continues to monitor information from various sources including that from the Australian Government Depart of Health and the World Health Organization (WHO).

\images\coronavirusWorld Sailing has released a document (3 March 2020) relating to the Corona Virus situation, a link can be found below.

There are ten important points mentioned on pages 4 and 5 of the document in relation to practical things you can do to minimise risk of exposure.

Based on the current information and guidance available to us, ARYA events will continue as scheduled however, it is appropriate that we take active steps to prevent the potential spread of this, and other viruses.

Everyone should practice good hygiene to protect against infections. Good hygiene includes:

  • washing your hands often with soap and water
  • using a tissue and cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze
  • avoiding close contact with others, such as touching

If you are unwell STAY AT HOME, please be considerate of your fellow sailors. If you have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical attention.
