Kiwi's Lay Down The Challenge

Jul 16, 2019

The NZ Radio Yachting Association will host this years 2019 New Zealand IOM Championship at Hamilton, NZL and it would appear that the Kiwi's are throwing out a challenge to any Aussie's looking to cross the ditch for three days of sailing against New Zealand's best!

To be sailed on Lake Rotorua, Hamilton over three days 27-29 September 2019, the fleet will arrive from all parts of New Zealand with an Australian contingent ready to make the trip across the Tasman to compete for this prestigious trophy in a lead-up to the 2019 World Championship being held 16-23 November in Porto Alegre, Brazil.

\images\hamiltonmapThis is a spectacular venue at the Hamilton Lake Domain where there is a great opportunity for the general public to come down and chill out and picnic while admiring the fleet of these quality radio sailboats competing  close to shore on the lake.

\images\nznatstrophyIan Vickers has won the NZL Championship nine times and as a late entry into the 2019 IOM Worlds will be at the the top of his game and further fine tuning his superb skills against the top of hotly contested NZ IOM National Ranking sailors.

Our Kiwi's tell us there maybe an outside chance from the Aussies if we use our underarm! - That's a challenge if ever I've seen one!
